Muddy 4 Paws

Muddy 4 Paws is a small experienced Dog Grooming salon & Pet Shop situated in the harbour town of maryport Cumbria.

We have been an established business since April 2008 where we started our journey with just me, Gemma the owner, a grooming room and a few dog accessories. Now we are a dedicated, reliable, animal loving team of five.

 

Over the past 8 years we have continued to build our business on an excellent reputation in and around Cumbria by providing a professional quality service in a caring environment, with clients visiting us from as far away as Manchester to experience our first class service.

About me, Gemma (owner of Muddy 4 Paws)

 

Working with animals is my dream job. I love dogs and have a 3 year old German Wirehaired Pointer called Chewbacca 'Chewie'. Chewie is also one of the team and you will often see him 'helping' out around the Salon, and we have just recently extended our family and are the proud owners of a beautiful Italian Spinone calledGeppetto who will also be helping around the Salon.

I have over 14 years experience working in the Animal Care sector. Starting back when I was 16 where I worked as a Kennel Assistant/Dog Groomer at Glyndale Kennels in Workington Cumbria.

 

My qualifications and training include a Diploma in Animal Care & Management. I am also a qualified Pet Implater (micro chipping).

 

I trained to be a Dog Groomer at Newton Rigg College and gained most of my experience from Glynis Heathering my employer at Glyndale Kennels who has over 50 years of experience in the industry.

 

I decided to start a new chapter and opened Muddy 4 Paws in April 2008 and have never looked back. I throughly enjoy my job and love coming to work every day pampering our furry friends and learning new things.

 

Our Team.

 

Kathyrn: Kathryn is one of our grooming assisants and has worked at Muddy 4 Paws since Febuary 2013. She has previously attended Newton Rigg and gained her qualification in Animal Care & Management. Kathryn owns two staffy cross breeds called Cynder & Stella.

 

Leanne: Leanne is our trainee member of the team. She qualified at Newton Rigg in July 2015 and finished attending the Dog Grooming course at Newton Rigg in 2017 to become a Dog Groomer. Leanne spends hers spare time competing in agility competitions with her two dog Ozzy a Working Cocker Spaniel & Cookie a Jack Russell cross.

 

Zoe: Zoe is our newest member and joined us in January 2018. She is a qualified Dog Groomer has a Level 3 Diploma in Dog Grooming and has worked in Grooming salons for the past 10 years. Zoe has a little Poodle called Bobby who she adopted from an old customer in her previous Dog Grooming Job. She also has a snake, guinea pigs and a hamster.

 

Linda: Linda is my mam and is a valued member of our team. She attends to customers and deals with the day to day running of our Pet Shop.

 

All members of staff at Muddy 4 Paws have qualified in Pet First Aid.
